Purportedly a record of a secret meeting by Jewish leaders in which they reveal their plan for world domination, the Protocols was in fact written at the end of the 19th century by the Tsarist secret police. The origin of the Protocols had been exposed as early as 1921, yet that hasn’t stopped it from continuing to be a best-seller among racists and hate-mongers. Beginning with the raft of rumors and wild theories that emerged in the wake of 9/11, Levin sets off across America to meet those people for whom the Protocols serves as a cornerstone of their worldview. Wisely, Levin chooses not to add to the din and fury but instead allows his subjects to speak for themselves.
