Semper Ubi: Ubisoft and the Art of Games
Admission: $10 general, $6 members, $7 students.
Players Lounge: Free to ticket holders; $5 for others.

Global video game company Ubisoft publishes some of the game industry’s smartest and most successful games, including Myst, Prince of Persia, Beyond Good and Evil, Far Cry, And 1 Streetball, Brothers in Arms, and the blockbuster Tom Clancy troika: Splinter Cell, Ghost Recon, and Rainbow Six.

Upcoming releases include Peter Jackson’s King Kong: The Official Game of the Movie, inspired by Universal Pictures December 14th release of King Kong.

Tonight’s event is a kick-ass multimedia program that features in-game and CGI footage, behind-the-scenes and making-of material, and onstage presentations by Prince of Persia producer Yannis Mallat, Brothers in Arms’ Colonel John Antal, and, fresh from Ubisoft’s Montpellier studio and the making of King Kong, Xavier Poix. Oh yeah, and you’ll see jawdropping previews of unreleased scenes from the King Kong game. And the unreleased trailer from King Kong, the movie!

During the day, Ubisoft and the Film Society will host a Players Lounge in the Walter Reade Theater Gallery from noon to 7pm, where gamers can play new and upcoming Ubisoft games, including Peter Jackson’s King Kong: The Official Game of the Movie in eight different formats.

Live music at event and lounge by DJ Green Lantern from Ubisoft’s And 1 Streetball game. Semper Ubi is supported by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Paris and French Cultural Services in New York. Very special thanks to Anette Rey-Devergne, Jaime Borasi, Gregoire Igert, Patrick Renault, Marie Bonnel, and Juliette Charvet.
