Millions of European television viewers experienced the open-air concert by the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra, broadcast live from the symbolic ruins of the Alhambra in Granada. Based on the belief that music is a language of peace, the concert featured a stellar classical program: Beethoven’s Leonore Overture No. 3, Brahms’ Symphony No. 1 and Bottesini’s Fantasia on a Theme by Rossini (arranged by Michinori Bunya).
