THE MIND/BODY PROGRAM
Series: Scanners: The 2006 New York Video Festival [July 26 – 30 2006]
Runtime: 70

Everybody knows the agony and ecstasies of human flesh. In this show a sampling of certain mental and corporeal dilemmas are addressed. Highlights include David Robbins’s methodical face-time with his personal trainer, an example of Donigan Cumming’s continuing exegesis of the elderly (in all their gray gnarly glory), and a recent piece by George Kuchar, one of the great elder statesman of the art form. Living ain’t easy, but there are far worse fates available. If this program works the way we think it does, expect a little bit of catharsis.
