Young Friends of Film Special Events
In 2007 Young Friends of Film special events have included an advance screening of Waitress with actress Keri Russell in attendance; the premiere of David Schwimmer's directorial debut Run, Fat Boy, Run with Schwimmer, Michael Ian Black, Simon Pegg and Thandie Newton present; and a reception following the New York Film Festival HBO Films Director Dialogue with Wes Anderson.

In 2006, Steve Buscemi was here to screen Lonesome Jim and Matt Dillon attended a screening of Factotum.

In 2005, YFF presented the New York premiere of Campbell Scott's new film The Dying Gaul, with appearances by director Craig Lucas, Campbell Scott and cast members Peter Sarsgaard and Patricia Clarkson. Also among the party guests were Isabella Rossellini, Mary Louise Parker, and Alec and Stephen Baldwin.

In 2004, Young Friends of Film presented a special presentation of the New York Film Festival which honored director Pedro Almodóvar, attended by Gael Garcia Bernal (Bad Education), Fele Martinez (Bad Education), and Javier Camara (Talk to Her).

Young Friends of Film has honored talented stars in mid-career, including Ethan Hawke (2003), Jennifer Jason Leigh (2002), John Turturro (2001), and Kevin Bacon (2000). These gala events have featured special appearances by the honoree and tributes by celebrity guests, followed by festive cocktail parties in Lincoln Center’s Kaplan Penthouse.

Young Friends of Film [YFF] is a membership program designed for film enthusiasts aged 21–40 to see New York Film Festival and New Directors/New Films classics. YFF members get a complimentary ticket to six screenings per year with noteworthy guest speakers followed by great parties. In addition to all the benefits of a dual Film Society membership, YFF members receive one pair of complimentary tickets per month to select Walter Reade Theater series as well as invitations to sneak preview screenings of new films.
