The Film Society of Lincoln Center announced today its 2012 NYFF HBO Films® Directors Dialogues participants would be Abbas Kiarostami, David Chase and Robert Zemeckis and the popular On Cinema conversation will feature two directors - Noah Baumbach and Brian De Palma. FSLC also announced additional titles as part of its Masterworks program, including the Director’s Cut of Frank Oz’s LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS, restored versions of Michael Cimino’s HEAVEN’S GATE, Laurence Olivier’s RICHARD III and Peter Whitehead’s THE ROLLING STONES – CHARLING IS MY DARLING – IRELAND 1965, as well as two special sidebar presentations as part of the festival’s 50th Anniversary celebration.

The Film Society of Lincoln Center announced today the first presentation of NYFF Convergence on September 29 and 30 in the Elinor Bunin Munroe Film Center as part of the historic 50th edition of NYFF. FSLC also announced three films as part of its first Midnight Movies presentation. Serving as the crowning event for the Film Society of Lincoln Center’s year round programming commitment to transmedia, NYFF Convergence will be presented on Saturday, September 29 and Sunday, September 30 at the Elinor Bunin Munroe Film Center with two full days of panels, workshops and “immersive experiences” designed to be an intimate gathering for creators, designers, thinkers and fans.

The Film Society of Lincoln Center announced today that Nicole Kidman and Richard Peña will be the subject of gala tributes to be presented by the festival for the first time during the historic 50th edition of NYFF. FSLC also announced the addition of Kidman’s upcoming film, Lee Daniels’s adaptation of Pete Dexter’s popular novel, THE PAPERBOY to NYFF’s main slate schedule. The Gala Tribute to Nicole Kidman will take place on Wednesday, October 3, and the Gala Tribute to Richard Peña will take place on Wednesday, October 10.

The Film Society of Lincoln Center announced special Masterworks anniversary screenings of David Lean’s classic epic LAWRENCE OF ARABIA, Walt Disney’s animated classic SNOW WHITE AND THE SEVEN DWARFS, and Rob Reiner’s comedy classic THE PRINCESS BRIDE, the debut of two new sidebar sections, and additional special event screenings to join the main slate of selections for the 50th New York Film Festival (September 28-October 14).

The Film Society of Lincoln Center announced today the main slate of selections for the 50th New York Film Festival (September 28-October 14) including such notable directors as Olivier Assayas, Noah Baumbach, Leos Carax, Brian De Palma, Michael Haneke, Abbas Kiarostami, Ang Lee, Cristian Mungiu, Sally Potter, Alain Resnais, Raul Ruiz and Robert Zemeckis.

The Film Society of Lincoln Center announced today that David Chase’s NOT FADE AWAY will make its World Premiere on Saturday, October 6 as the Centerpiece Gala selection for the 50th New York Film Festival (September 28-October 14).

The Film Society of Lincoln Center announced today that Ang Lee’s LIFE OF PI will make its World Premiere as the Opening Night Gala presentation for the upcoming 50th New York Film Festival (September 28 – October 14). The screening will mark the Academy Award-winning director’s return to NYFF, 12 years after CROUCHING TIGER, HIDDEN DRAGON served as the Closing Night Gala presentation (2000). The selection of LIFE OF PI also allows Lee to join Robert Altman, Pedro Almodóvar and François Truffaut as the only directors to have had more than one film chosen to open NYFF. (THE ICE STORM was the Opening Night Gala selection in 1997.)

The Film Society of Lincoln Center announced today that Robert Zemeckis’s FLIGHT will make its World Premiere as the Closing Night film for the upcoming 50th New York Film Festival (September 28 – October 14).

One of New York City’s leading cultural figures, a former chairman of Lincoln Center as well as the founding president and chief executive of the Film Society of Lincoln Center for several years, Martin E. Segal died Sunday, August 5 in New York.

The Film Society of Lincoln Center announced today the schedule for ORIENTATION: A NEW ARAB CINEMA (August 24-29). The upcoming series is the result of a new partnership between FSLC and the Dubai International Film Festival, presenting a series of recent feature films and shorts that have been supported by the Dubai Film Market.
