The Film Society of Lincoln Center (FSLC) and AMC announced today a first-of-its-kind collaboration to celebrate AMC’s heralded and Emmy® Award-winning show Breaking Bad, whose final episodes begin on August 11 at 9pm. The weeklong celebration begins on Friday, July 26 with “Long Cook: A Breaking Bad Marathon,” a free five-day marathon screening of all previous seasons (July 26-30) at the Elinor Bunin Munroe Film Center Amphitheater. On Thursday, August 1 and Friday, August 2, FSLC and AMC present “The Perfect Batch: Breaking Bad Cast Favorites,” for which series Creator and Executive Producer Vince Gilligan, will join stars Bryan Cranston, Anna Gunn, Betsy Brandt, RJ Mitte and Bob Odenkirk to present their favorite episodes and participate in Q&A sessions at the Walter Reade Theater.

The Film Society of Lincoln Center announced today Fasten Your Seatbelts (Part 2): 20th Century Fox (August 9-15), a summertime big screen showcase of some of the movie studio’s most beloved and unforgettable films. Presented via DCP restorations and beautiful studio library 35mm prints, with a focus on a single artist and their creative contribution to each film, Fasten Your Seatbelts is sure to be a truly rare movie-going event.

The Film Society of Lincoln Center announced today a weeklong series focusing on David Bowie, the actor. 2013 has seen the re-emergence of the always fascinating musician, performer and artist with the release of a new album (“The Next Day”) and a sold-out museum exhibition in London (David Bowie Is). In honor of his genius for shape shifting, the Film Society will present Watch That Man: David Bowie, Movie Star (August 2-8), a retrospective of what is arguably his finest work on the big screen—plus two special rarities from the BBC archives, one of which has never been seen in the U.S.

The Film Society of Lincoln Center announced today the Film Comment Double Feature lineup for July will focus on Jack Nicholson, as director and on filmmaker Hal Ashby in August. These screenings are part of an on-going monthly series of repertory double bills, launched in last year. On July 24, the Nicholson directed films Drive, He Said and Goin’ South will screen back to back and will include a DVD giveaway from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment’s (SPHE) manufacture-on-demand service “Sony Pictures Choice Collection” for some lucky theatergoers. Hal Ashby’s Bound for Glory will screen with Shampoo on August 19. Tickets for both events go on sale tomorrow, Thursday June 27.

The Film Society of Lincoln Center announced today the lineup for SOUND + VISION (July 26 to August 1), a music documentary series exploring an exciting range of musical artists, genres and styles. The camera is turned on music subjects as varied as Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong, James Booker ("The Black Liberace"), Mexican rock group Molotov, country music star Jim Lauderdale, classical music prodigies, K-Pop, the Muscle Shoals sound and more!

The Film Society of Lincoln Center announced today additional guests for the on-going FREE Summer Talks series, which kicked off in May with Before Midnight director Richard Linklater, actors Julie Delpy and Ethan Hawke. On Sunday, July 14 at 5PM Only God Forgives Director Nicolas Winding Refn will participate in a Summer Talk followed by David Gordon Green discussing Prince Avalanche on Thursday, August 1 at 6:30PM and Passion Director Brian De Palma on Monday, August 19 at 7PM. All talks will include clips, trailers and an extended conversation, with questions also taken from the audience.

The Film Society of Lincoln Center and Jaeger-LeCoultre announced today select members of their Advisory Board for the new Filmmaker In Residence initiative at a star-studded dinner co-hosted by Charles Finch, Bennett Miller, Paul Schrader and Rose Kuo. The evening marked the launch, and celebration, of the recently announced partnership between the Film Society of Lincoln Center and Jaeger LeCoultre, following the efforts of Finch & Partners to bring the film organization and luxury brand together. The Advisory Board members participating in the initiative include: Henry Bean, Brady Corbet, Charles Finch, Naomi Foner, Larry Gross, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Danny Huston, Tamara Jenkins, Ed Lachman, Bennett Miller, Matthew Modine, Ed Pressman, Ira Sachs, Paul Schrader and Marisa Tomei.

The Film Society of Lincoln Center announced today the lineup for this year’s edition of Latinbeat, July 12-21. Opening Night launches with LA PAZ by prolific Argentinian filmmaker, Santiago Loza, who has showcased his work at the festival since 2000, and is also an influential playwright in the indie theater scene of Buenos Aires. This year’s lineup also includes the previously announced retrospective of filmmaker, Matias Piñeiro, who will screen his films THE STOLEN MAN and THEY ALL LIE during the festival while simultaneously theatrically opening VIOLA and ROSALINDA at the Film Society of Lincoln Center on July 12th.
