The Film Society of Lincoln Center announced today it will present The Discreet Charm of George Cukor (December 13 – January 7). Organized in collaboration with the Locarno Film Festival, the series runs 26 days and offers a comprehensive overview of the Academy Award®- winning director’s work, the first presentation of its kind in several decades in New York City. The Film Society of Lincoln Center announced today the lineup for the 2013 Mountainfilm series, which runs from November 15-17, 2013. From the tops of the rugged Himalayas and Mount Everest to the frigid beaches by the Arctic Circle and rippling oceans around the world, this bold documentary series takes audiences on dynamic journeys to the great outdoors – all in the comfort of a movie theater.

The Film Society of Lincoln Center’s upcoming horror series Scary Movies 7 announced it has added a special screening of Bobcat Goldthwait’s WILLOW CREEK preceded by a screening of the horror classic THE NANNY, starring Bette Davis on Tuesday, November 5.

The Film Society of Lincoln Center’s annual horror fest Scary Movies returns for its 7th edition featuring several U.S. and New York City premieres among its lineup of highly anticipated horror films and thrillers, genre rarities and fan favorites. Appearances include filmmakers Eli Roth, Andrew van den Houten, Cliff Prowse and Derek Lee.

The Film Society of Lincoln Center announced today an additional screening of Jean-Luc Godard’s 1962 masterpiece Vivre sa vie on 35MM, during the 51st New York Film Festival (September 27-October 13). The film was previously announced as part of the Jean-Luc Godard – The Spirit of the Forms three-week retrospective (October 9-30). The Film Society of Lincoln Center announced today the details and participants for the second annual free-to-the-public NYFF LIVE series of filmmaker and film industry conversations at the Elinor Bunin Munroe Film Center Amphitheater (144 W. 65th Street) and the Apple Store, SoHo (103 Prince Street). FSLC and Rockstar Games to host a live music event & panel discussions to examine GRAND THEFT AUTO V
The Film Society of Lincoln Center (FSLC) and Rockstar Games will present panel discussions from September 29 to October 1 tied to the recent release of Grand Theft Auto V (GTAV) during the 51st New York Film Festival as part of its NYFF Convergence program, as well as an exclusive concert with live performances of the original score from composers Tangerine Dream, Woody Jackson, The Alchemist & Oh No.

The Film Society of Lincoln Center today revealed the artist, and design, for the 51st New York Film Festival poster by Tacita Dean. Throughout the past 50 years, a stellar line-up of artists commissioned their work for the festival including Cindy Sherman for last year’s poster. Please find a complete list of artists below. Dean has taken part in many group exhibitions including Venice Biennale (2003, 2005 and 2013), Sydney Biennale (2005 and 2014) and Sao Paulo Biennale (2006 and 2010), and she recently participated in dOCUMENTA (13) (2012). Dean was awarded the Hugo Boss Prize in 2006 and the Kurt Schwitters Prize in 2009.

The Film Society of Lincoln Center announced today the full schedule and complete lineup for the upcoming film series, Jean-Luc Godard - The Spirit of the Forms. The three-week retrospective of the legendary director’s work will begin during the second week of this year’s New York Film Festival, on October 9, and continue through to the end of the month, October 30. Joining the previously announced presentations of ALPHAVILLE (1965), WEEKEND (1968), HAIL MARY/THE BOOK OF MARY (1985), and FOR EVER MOZART (1996) screening during the New York Film Festival, the ambitious retrospective will include titles that range from the beloved to the seminal and experimental, spanning six decades, including: BREATHLESS (1960), VIVRE SA VIE (1962), CONTEMPT (1963), BAND OF OUTSIDERS (1964), TWO OR THREE THINGS I KNOW ABOUT HER (1966), NUMÉRO DEUX (1975), KING LEAR (1987) NOUVELLE VAGUE (1990) and FILM SOCIALISME (2010), as well as Godard’s three monumental works made for television; Six Fois Deux (1976), France/Tour/Détour/Deux enfants (1979) and Histoire(s) du cinema.
