The big day is here! Tickets to the 51st New York Film Festival go on sale to the General Public on Sunday, September 8 at 12:00pm.
Tickets can be purchased right here on FilmLinc.com, at the Alice Tully Hall Box Office, or over the phone via CenterCharge and TTY. We're sure many of you have questions about purchasing tickets, so we've tried to answer as many as possible over on our Ticket Info page. It's a great resource for all things ticketing.
In the interest of making the process as smooth as possible, we thought we'd go over a few things here.
On Sunday at noon, a link to enter the ticketing system will appear at the top of the Ticket Info page and in various other places around our site.
Because we anticipate a high volume of traffic, when you click the link you will be put in what we call a Virtual Waiting Room. You'll see a countdown clock. When it reaches zero, the page will reload and the countdown will continue until it's your turn to start buying tickets. Do not refresh the page or navigate away from the Virtual Waiting Room, as it will cause you to lose your place in line!
Due to high demand, some of our most popular films have no tickets available, while other films only have tickets available for certain showtimes. For a breakdown, head to our Ticket Availability page. We will do our best to update this page throughout the day.
We know some of you will be bummed to learn that films you hoped to see in the festival have no tickets available. Rest assured that we are doing our very best to free up tickets to as many screenings as possible. And, as always, there will be standby lines for all screenings. Head to the (you guessed it!) Ticket Info page to read about our standby policy.
But take heart because we've saved some good news for last! You may have noticed that we have nothing scheduled for October 13, the final day of the festival. That's because we've left it open so that we can schedule additional screenings of some of the festival's most popular films! We are working hard to lock down these October 13 screenings, and potentially a few others during the festival, so that you can breathe a little easier. To that end, we highly encourage you to sign up for our dedicated email blasts for the latest festival updates, and to follow us on Twitter at @TheNYFF.
We can't wait to see you at the 51st New York Film Festival!blog comments powered by Disqus
