Elinor Bunin Munroe Film Center
Emerging Visions is a creative symposium jointly curated by IFP and the Film Society of Lincoln Center, with generous support from the Royal Bank of Canada and runs concurrent to the New York Film Festival. Emerging Visions is made possible through full support from the Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) and its RBC Emerging Artists Project.
For the second year, the daylong event, will take place on Thursday, October 4 at the Film Society of Lincoln Center’s Elinor Bunin Munroe Film Center, and will introduce 12 emerging filmmaking talents to some of the most prolific directors and producers in the industry today. This year our keynote speakers are Mira Nair (dir. The Reluctant Fundamentalist) and Jonathan Demme (dir. The Silence of the Lambs, Philadelphia).
The Film Society of Lincoln Center and IFP work together to present an event that provides opportunities to fresh faces in independent film not only to make their entrance into the industry, but also to gain knowledge from relevant and influential filmmakers. Each filmmaker will receive year round support from both organizations through annual memberships and participation in panels and events. Each of the 12 emerging directors and writers will take part in a number of additional programs, initiatives and networking activities throughout 2013 to continue providing access and resources for each of these directors’ individual creative endeavors.
