Although greeted with mixed reviews when released in 1982, Blade Runner has gradually moved from cult to classic status. Now widely hailed as a key work of screen science fiction as well as a chillingly (and increasingly) perceptive vision of the future, Blade Runner has continued to inspire and fascinate audiences, academics and filmmakers. As part of our 25th anniversary salute, film scholars Giuliana Bruno, Scott Bukatman, and Jane Gaines will be on hand to offer their thoughts on Blade Runner and its legacy for science fiction, cinema and American culture. They will be joined by several members of the creative team responsible for the film.
