An Uncommon Woman
Abdoulaye Dao, 2009
Burkina Faso | 101 minutes

Mina, the chairwoman and managing director of a big company, decides to have a second husband. It’s a strange and courageous decision in an environment where polyandry is an unknown practice, but Mina has her reasons. As a faithful wife, she is disappointed by her unemployed husband’s behavior and his flirtatious relationship with the Aicha, the neighbor’s wife. The consequences of Mina’s decision make for a humorous light comedy that nevertheless challenges traditional ways.
