All Your Dead Ones
Todos tus muertos | Carlos Moreno, 2011
Colombia | Spanish with English subtitles | 88 minutes

New York Premiere

It is election day, and while the village is teeming with activity and noise, further out in the quiet countryside Salvador wakes up early to take care of his land.  As he calmly treads the mazes of his cornfield, he stumbles on the most macabre scene:  a huge pile of corpses lying in the blazing sun, right in the midst of his plantation.  Horrified, he heads to the village to report the massacre but little attention is paid to him as public officials have other priorities in mind.  Moreno (whose first film, Perro come perro, premiered at Latinbeat 09) skillfully and vividly recreates the stifling atmosphere resulting from the mix of corruption, poverty, violence that plagues Colombia today.
