Lyubov Arkus

Born Sep 20, 1960. From Lviv, Ukrainian SSR, USSR (now Lviv, Ukraine).

Born in Lvov, Ukraine, in 1960 Lyubov Arkus graduated from the Russian State Institute of Cinematography in screenwriting and film studies. She worked as a literary secretary for Viktor Shklovsky and a screenplay editor at Lenfilm Studios. Arkus is the founder and editor in chief of Séance magazine and Séance publishing house, and since 2010 has been artistic director of the Séance Workshop. She co-authors the TV program Private Screening. From 2006 to 2011, she was a lecturer at Saint Petersburg State University of Film and Television. Arkus compiled the seven-volume film encyclopedia A Modern History of Russian Film, 1986–2000.
