Gus Van Sant Makes Bid for Fifty Shades of Grey
Hoping to land the director's job for Fifty Shades of Grey, director Gus Van Sant has reportedly shot a steamy sex scene featuring Alex Pettyfer as the billionaire Christian Grey. The two-time Oscar-nominee is eager for the job and shot the test reel on his own initiative in order to prove his muster. Pettyfer isn't attached as the male lead for the film version of the erotic novel, but was cast to shoot the scene by Van Sant, which is allegedly the pivotal moment when the impressionable Anastasia Steele loses her virginity to Grey, The Guardian reports.

On Wednesday, writer-director-actor Zach Braff launched a page for his long-awaited directorial follow-up to Garden State. Bearing the title Wish I Was Here, Braff set his fundraising goal for the film at $2M (the same as Thomas'). The project was almost halfway there after less than a day on the site.
