‘2 Autumns, 3 Winters’ Exclusive Clip Gets ‘Hotter and Drunker’

A selection at the Film Society's annual Rendez-Vous with French Cinema series, 2 Autumns, 3 Winters will make its return this Friday for its theatrical rollout. FilmLinc Daily is featuring an exclusive clip from the comedy below.

Sébastien Betbeder's feature follows Arman, who is 33 and ready to make a change, starting with a run in the park. When he literally bumps into Amélie, a somewhat cynical but overall lovely person, on the jogging path, he's dead set on making a connection with her. As a bit of contrived fate brings them together, Arman's best friend Benjamin suffers an unexpected stroke, relegating him to the hospital for weeks where he falls for his doting young physical therapist. Over the course of two autumns and three winters, Arman, Amélie, and Benjamin share the incidental moments, unexpected accidents, unconventional love stories, and unforgettable memories that will define who they are.

And Film Comment observed: "Betbeder joins the ever-lengthening lineage of the New Wave but his portrayal is thoroughly contemporary, with an appealing open-mindness and nimble sense of humor and sensitivity appreciable on its own terms.

In this exclusive clip from the film—given the apt title "Hotter and Drunker"—the couple is at home opening another bottle of wine. Giggling with a glass of wine in hand, Amélie (Wyler) says she can't have anymore and takes off her sweater. With the bottle already opened, Arman (Macaigne) goes over to his computer to turn on some music and invites her over to the sofa…
