For the first time in its 17-year history, Rendez-Vous with French Cinema will include a special sidebar section that seeks to expand the annual festival’s offerings to documentaries and little-seen early features from now-acclaimed directors.
This once-in-a-generation restoration of the George Méliès masterpiece comes to the Film Center Amphitheater starting Friday for an extended run (at discount prices!) and will screen with "The Extraordinary Voyage," a documentary chronicling the arduous process of restoring the color version long thought lost to the world.
"Cinematic Goddess: American Sex Symbol, The Films of Raquel Welch" opens tomorrow and features 10 of Welch's most memorable performances across five days. Welch will be in person for intros and Q&As at many screenings, serving pure glamour of course!
Fans of French film rejoice! The lineup for the 17th edition of Rendez-Vous With French Cinema has been announced. This year's Opening Night will take place in Lincoln Center's Alice Tully Hall and will feature a screening of "The Intouchables," a record-smashing hit in France.
