This weekend, the Romanian Film Festival in New York brings to the Film Society a number of free and open-to-the-public screenings and events designed to demonstrate the rich and varied tradition of Romanian cinema over the past decade.

On December 23, Wim Wenders's stunning 3D documentary about the life and work of celebrated choreographer Pina Bausch returns to the Film Society for an extended run. The film was a hit at the 49th New York Film Festival and awards. nominations and praise for the film keep rolling in.
Take Your Family On a “Fantastic Voyage” Through Cinema
Film Society has just announced the winter schedule for our ongoing series of $6 Family Films, among them "Mary Poppins," "Explorers," "Bedknobs and Broomsticks" and the inventive shorts of Georges Méliès's including "A Trip to the Moon."
Remembering Liviu Ciulei
All three films directed by the late master of Romanian theater—including "Forest of the Hanged," for which he won Best Director and received a Palme d'Or nomination at Cannes—will be shown as part of the 6th Romanian Film Festival in New York.
