Festival opener Captain Phillips was nominated in the Adapted Screenplay category for Billy Ray based on the book A Captain’s Duty: Somali Pirates, Navy SEALS, and Dangerous Days at Sea by Richard Phillips with Stephan Talty. Winners will be honored at the 2014 Writers Guild Awards on Saturday, February 1, at simultaneous ceremonies in Los Angeles and New York City.
