UPDATE: Misery star and Oscar nominee James Caan has been added to the list of presenters for the 41st Chaplin Award Gala honoring Rob Reiner!

The 41st Chaplin Award Gala honoring filmmaker/actor Rob Reiner is approaching. The event will feature a number of guests who will salute Reiner, including fellow filmmakers and stars who have been present throughout his career. Leading up to the Gala on April 28, the Film Society of Lincoln Center will host a mini-retrospective of some of Reiner's most celebrated films on Sunday, April 27 and Monday, April 28.

Presenting the Chaplin Award to Reiner will be Academy Award-winning director Martin Scorsese. Reiner co-starred in Scorsese’s latest feature, The Wolf of Wall Street, playing father to Leonardo DiCaprio’s maniacal leading man, Jordan Belfort.

Other presenters will include Billy Crystal (star of Reiner’s When Harry Met Sally…), Michael Douglas (star of Reiner’s The American President and the upcoming And So It Goes…), Michael McKean (featured in This Is Spinal Tap), and Reiner’s leading lady in The Princess Bride, Robin Wright.

Fans of Reiner’s filmography should mark their calendars for April 27 and 28. Films set to screen ahead of the Chaplin include A Few Good Men (nominated for four Academy Awards, including Best Picture), Misery (an Oscar winner for its lead performance by Kathy Bates), The Princess Bride, and Stand by Me.

The Film Society’s Annual Gala began in 1972 and honored Charlie Chaplin, who returned to the U.S. from exile to accept the commendation.
