Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton, Jean Cocteau, a '60s Palme d'Or winner, the Munich Olympics and Alain Resnais are all on tap for this year's Cannes Classics. The festival, which opens next month with previously announced The Great Gatsby by Baz Luhrmann, unveiled 19 titles that will screen with restored prints, including the 1963 classic Cleopatra and 1987's The Last Emperor. In all, this year's Classics lineup will encompass 20 feature-length narratives and three documentaries.
In addition to Cannes Classics, restored versions of additional features will screen seaside as part of the festival's Cinéma de la Plage program, including titles by Buster Keaton, Alfred Hitchcock and Luc Besson.
The 2013 Festival de Cannes takes place May 15 - 26.
