The festival unveiled the Official Poster for its upcoming 66th edition, choosing Americans (Joanne Woodward & Paul Newman) for its main image for the third straight year. The latest news comes as speculation heats up over which films will make the official lineup announcement.

Cannes has set its Opening Night film and selected its Jury President. Now speculation begins to mount on which films will and won't join the May festival's lineup. Also, dueling Muhammad pics from Iran and Qatar, Zurich fest set to fete Brazil, and Tribeca All Access names 11 projects for its 2013 program.

Today we highlight what's sure to be remembered as the breakout indie film of 2012. Benh Zeitlin's debut feature premiered at Sundance, was the surprise Closing Night screening at New Directors/New Films, and took home prizes at Cannes, London, the Gothams, and many more.

Michael Haneke's Palme d'Or winner is his home nation's entry for Best Foreign Language Film at the 85th Academy Awards. Fellow NYFF Main Slate selection Barbara from Christian Petzold will represent Germany.
