film descriptions and times

The second edition of The Next Generation of Film features appearances by the creative teams behind SHREK, the most phenomenally successful film of the summer, and what is sure to be the key movie of the end of this year — THE LORD OF THE RINGS: THE FELLOWSHIP OF THE RING. We will also have a very special evening with Wes Anderson, director of Bottle Rocket, Rushmore and the upcoming The Royal Tenenbaums, one of the freshest talents to hit the movie scene in years. Once again, this very special weekend program is subject to rearrangements, and we’re still confirming some more surprise guests, so pay close attention to this page and advertisements in The New York Times for the latest developments. Air Travel compliments of American Airlines.

JOY RIDE
Private premiere screening for the Film Society of Lincoln Center's Young Friends of Film members.
Join us for a special advance screening of the new thriller from John Dahl, the director of Red Rock West and The Last Seduction. Leelee Sobieski (Eyes Wide Shut, A Soldier’s Daughter Never Cries) is Venna, a college student who goes on the road with her friend Lewis (Paul Walker) and his crazy brother Fuller (Steve Zahn). When Fuller taunts a truck driver, he puts them all in serious danger. Dahl made some of the finest neo-noirs of the last decade, and his first film of the new century promises to be one of his best.
To join Young Friends of Film, please call Will McCord at 212-875-5630.
