Duck SeasonIn the middle of another boring Sunday, left home alone by their parents, pals Flama and Moko order pizza and have thumbs ready for video games. Things don’t go as planned, however. A showdown with the pizza delivery man ensues, while Rita, a young girl from down the hall, arrives to bake her own birthday cake in their oven. Then the power in the building fails and the kids find themselves whiling away the time revealing their hopes and fears. Director Fernando Eimbcke casts a sharp light on adolescent love, friendship, loneliness, and estrangement in this finely crafted feature film debut. Mexico, 2004. 87 min.
