Assistant Director of Development, Institutional Giving
The Film Society of Lincoln Center, the country’s premier film presentation organization, with an annual budget of $7 million, is seeking to fill the newly created position of Assistant Director of Development, Institutional Giving. Working with the Director and Deputy Director of Development, the Assistant Director will contribute both to the Film Society’s annual fundraising goal of $3 million, as well as to its capital campaign for a new Film Center scheduled to open in June 2010.
As a key member of the Development Department, the Assistant Director will play a comprehensive and strategic role in planning, identifying, securing and maintaining foundation, corporate and government grants, with the goal of substantially increasing the organization’s income from these sources. Primary responsibilities include writing grant proposals, preparing reports and related correspondence; tracking deadlines and grant fulfillment; researching prospects and stewardship of current funders.
We seek a highly-organized self-starter with exceptional writing ability, who holds at least a bachelor’s degree and has a minimum of two years experience in institutional giving. Mastery of MS Office and the Internet is a must, with more extensive database experience a plus. Love of the arts generally and film in particular is desirable. Salary is commensurate with experience and includes a generous benefits package.
